Cerro Catedral rises in the middle of Nahuel Huapi National Park, surrounded
by unique lakes and summits, just 19 km (12 miles) away from San Carlos
de Bariloche, to which it is linked by a paved road. This city has a world-class
hotel and restaurant network.
In the Cerro Catedral complex you can take part in various sporting activities
all year round. In winter you will be surprised by the great number of
runs and over 30 lifts, among which there are a 6-seater polycarbonate-roofed
gondola and a quadruple chair lift. Also, there are snow-making facilities
which operate all night long to ensure there is snow as far as the base
during the whole season. Another attraction worth mentioning is the Snowboard
Park, certified by the International Snowboard Federation and tested by
the best Argentinean snowboarders.
SKI AND SNOWBOARD
SCHOOL The schools, which have their
own infrastructure at the base of the mountain, are staffed with over
200 professional experienced and internationally certified instructors.
Lessons are given in several languages.
There is also a ski and snowboard school for children between 3 and 13
years of age, and a Guardería Infantil providing daycare and introductory
lessons.
LIFTS There are more than 30 lifts,
which can carry 22,000 skiers per hour.
GROOMING AND SNOW-MAKING
FACILITIES Cerro Catedral has 9 machines
that maintain 70 hectares an hour. The snow-making system, which can cover
an area of about 10 hectares, is made up of 53 state-of-the-art snow cannons
imported from the USA.
