MADRYN - EL CALAFATE OVERLAND EXPEDITION - (14days /13 nights)
Two weeks deep in the heart of the Patagonia, traveling through some "estancias"
(ranches): Parador La Leona , Los Huemules, El Cóndor, Menelik,
also through El Chaltén y la Cueva de las Manos (cave with Indian
handprints)
Day 1 TRELEW - PUERTO MADRYN
Arrival, reception at the Trelew airport. Tea at typical Welsh tea room,
in the town Gaiman (the most important Welsh Colony in the Patagonia,
who maintain their original traditions). Presentation of the programme
of the complete trip.
Transfer to Puerto Madryn.
One night at the Hostería Torremolinos, dinner included.
Day 2 PENINSULA DE VALDES
Breakfast at the hotel. Day tour of the Valdés Peninsula, declared
by UNESCO as "World Heritage" in 1998.
Visiting the seals, sea lions, penguins and other native birds.
You will also be able to see other native species in their natural environment
like the "guanaco" (Llama family) and the "choike"
(rhea).
A visit to a local tourist center where you will get a better idea of
the geological formation period of this area, including fossils.
Sunset: setting up of camp on one of the beaches to view famous sunsets.
Night: camping at the Valdés Peninsula. Breakfast, lunch and dinner
included.
Day 3 PENINSULA VALDES- COMODORO RIVADAVIA
Visit to Puerto Pirámides, after breakfast.
Boat trip to see the fauna: sea lions, dolphins, penguins and whales incl.
the Franca Austral whale. *
Transfer to "Las Bardas" ranch. An area known for its important
arquiological grounds.
Fascinating views of the city of Trelew and the Chubut river valley, with
a barbecued Patagonian lamb for lunch.
Afternoon: transfer to Comodoro Rivadavia, 450km away (just under 300
miles), one of the most important cities in Patagonia.
This is also an oil industry area.
One night at the Lucania Hotel . Breakfast and lunch included. *
The Franca Austral whale can be seen between the months of April and December.
Day 4 COMODORO RIVADAVIA - BAJO CARACOLES
After breakfast, travell down to Santa Cruz Province, through Patagonian
desert, with views of the oil fields. Passing through the towns of Caleta
Olivia, Pico Truncado and Las Heras , arriving at the Estancia "Los
Toldos" near the town of Bajo Caracoles. Overnight stay.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day
5 CUEVA DE LAS MANOS
Tour with local guide to the Cueva de las Manos, 9000 year old Indian
Art. (aprox. 8 hours)
Río Pinturas: deep canyon with more examples of old Indian Art.
Picnic lunch provided.
Dinner, and breakfast at the hotel, included.
Day 6 LOS TOLDOS - ESTANCIA MENELIK
After breakfast leave on a 5 hour drive to Estancia Menelik (ranch), on
the border of the Perito Moreno National Park . Lunch and free afternoon
for trekking or pony trekking.
Overnight stay. Lunch, dinner and breakfast included.
Day 7 PARQUE NACIONAL PERITO MORENO
Day Tour with local guide to Perito Moreno National Park (115.000 hect.)
Beautiful "Lenga" (local tree) forests. Interesting area of
lakes and rivers that flow to two different oceans, the Pacific and the
Atlantic.
Glaciers, waterfalls and fossils can also be seen in this Park.
Overnight stay at the Estancia Menelik.
Breakfast and dinner incl. Picnic lunch provided.
Day 8 ESTANCIA MENELIK - EL CHALTEN
Leave for El Chalten after breakfast, famous trekking area.
Here you will also see glaciers, hidden lakes, large estancias, the Viedma
lake and the two famous mountain peaks: Fitz Roy and Torre.
Camping overnight in the Los Glaciares National Park.
Dinner at one of the many good restaurants in the town of El Chalten.
Breakfast and dinner incl.
Day 9 CERRO TORRE
Day tour with local mountain guides to the Torre Glacier.
The tour starts with the use of indispensable mountain equipment.
Adventurous crossing of the Fitz Roy river.
Second night at the camping.
Breakfast and picnics incl.
Day 10 CERRO FITZ ROY
Day tour to the Fitz Roy Peak, known as the Chalten by the aborigines.
Poincenot camping site, presents the best views of the mountain peak.
From here up to the Laguna Los Tres to view the magnificent glaciers.
Stop at the Laguna Capri, on the way down, to see the incredible views
of the Patagonia.
Overnight camping.
Breakfast and picnics incl.
Day
11 LAGUNA DEL DESIERTO - GLACIAR HUEMULES - EL CALAFATE
Early breakfast and transfer to the Lago del Desierto (desert lake).
View of the lake or the Huemul Glacier.
After lunch drive through the area where the pioneer Perito Francisco
Moreno dedicated knowledge and time. A stop at La Leona, to hear more
about the famous pioneer.
From here to El Calafate, town situated by the Lago Argentino.
One night at the Bahia Redondaz Hotel (3 star).
Lunch and breakfast incl.
Day 12 GLACIAR UPSALA
Breakfast and transfer to Puerto Banderas. Interesting and complete excursion
of this lake district with views of the glaciars: Speghazzini, Onelli
and the magnificent Upsala. Return to El Calafate in the afternoon.
Second night at the Bahia Redonda Hotel.
Breakfast and picnics included.
Day 13 GLACIAR PERITO MORENO
Sail on the Lago Argentino to the Perito Moreno Glacier and experience
a trek on the ice.
This Glacier has become a worldwide attraction not only for its beauty
, but also for the spectacular moment when an important part of it breaks
off.
Back to the Hotel, for farewell dinner.
Breakfast, picnic and dinner included.
Day 14 EL CALAFATE
Breakfast and transfer to the airport for corresponding flights.

TOHOL TOHOL
means "guanaco" in "Tehuelche" language.
The Guanaco is similar to a llama and can be found in many provinces in
Argentina.
The Tehuelches were the native people that lived in the Patagonia area.
The guanaco is a camelidae, that has developed certain characteristics
to be able to survive in these conditions and be an ally to the native
tribes.
Tohol
is also the name we gave our yellow truck, who is also our ally.
It is especially designed to take us as far as we might want to reach and
bring us back in one piece, having had the possibility to interact with
nature and enjoy every single activity we offer.
Inside
de truck we transport everything we will we need for the nights we camp
out: tents, sleeping bags, kitchen utensils and other commodities that
allow us to have comfort out in the middle of nowhere!
We will be spending some nights out camping and other nights in Hotels,
this way you will be able to appreciate the most unique places on this
planet.

Prices
include all meals and guided activities, accommodation and transport.
They do not include drinks, flights and entrance tickets.

Reservations
We will accept reservations with a 30% payment in advance according to
the chosen itinerary.
The total payment must be completed 30 days before the departure date.
Tohol reserves the right to cancel any reservations that have not been
totally paid for in the specified terms. The passenger will have no right
of refund.
In the
case that the passenger cancels the service reserved and or paid for,
the following procedure will be applied:
From 44
to 30 days 25%
From 29 to 15 days 50%
From14 to 11 days 75%
Less than 10 days No refund
In all cases the cancellations must be done in writing.
All tariffs are expressed in Euros per person and include local taxes.
Responsibilities
Tohol Expeditions are not responsible for any damage that the passengers
my suffer, within this journey, meaning health problems, delays, problems
with the means of transport, neglect ion on behalf of other people involved
with services provided, etc.
Tohol, will not be responsible for any extra charges caused by delays
, illnesses, bad weather, strikes or coalition. Any of the services provided
by others are organized and attended by good honest companies that respond
directly to the passengers, Tohol Expeditions will not hold any responsibility.
Alterations
The programme and the itinerary will be modified if Tohol Expedition considers
it necessary, without refund.
The driver will also be allowed to change the itinerary and eliminate
parts of it if he considers it necessary, for the safety of the passengers
due to adverse technical or climatic conditions. Without the passengers
being able to claim refund.
Tohol
reserves the right to cancel the expedition at any moment before departure,
being only obliged to refund the cost of the ticket.
Transport
conditions
Tohol is only liable for the passengers whilst on board. The ticket, once
issued will stand as the only contract between Tohol and the passengers.
Personal belongings
The coordinators will not be responsible for any personal belongings during
the whole expedition, including the overnight stays at estancias, hotels
or camping sites.
Medical
atention
Tohol will not provide the passengers with medical assistance.
Any medical assistance needed will be attended to by independent doctors.
The passengers will be responsible for said medical fees.
DAY 1 - Arrival to San Carlos de Bariloche
Airport and transfer to hotel. 03 nts of accommodation with breakfast
DAY 2
- Excursion called "Circuito Chico" to visit Panoramic Point,
Llao Llao, Puerto Pañuelo, Moreno Lake, Cerro Lopez, Colonia Suiza...
DAY 3
- Boat Excursion to visit Isla Victoria and Los Arrayanes National Park.
DAY 4
- Transfer to airport
